Two-faced characteristics and performance of materials driven by asymmetric physical or chemical properties exist in Janus hybrid which show synergistic improved for a variety applications. Here, we report facile synthesis sustainable cellulose nanofibers (CNFs) sponge with wettability strong mechanical property excellent separation efficiency oil-water emulsions. Briefly, the CNF was fabricated freeze-drying two separate suspensions into one, each prepared separately introducing CNFs methyltrimethoxysilane (MTMS) 3-glycidoxypropyltrimethoxysilane (GPTMS) hydrophobic hydrophilic performance, respectively. The demonstrated satisfactory stability an recovery from 80% compressive strain high pore tortuosity.
